Dewi (David), Patron Saint of Cymru (Wales)

Dewi Sant

Dewi Sant, St. David, died on the first of March. St. David’s Day (Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant), is the traditional day of the Welsh – celebrated all over the world by wearing either of the national emblems, a leek or a daffodil, in commemoration of this Celtic saint’s death.

Please send your St David's Day Photos or YouTube links to info@bethnesaf.net for us to show the world what you did on the day.

Photos and a YouTube link From Dave Parry:

Hello,

My name is David Parry; I run an expat Welsh group called 'The Chicago Tafia'.

On March 1st we held our annual St. David's Day party at the Elephant & Castle Pub in downtown Chicago.

Following the party we heading up to the ABC 7 TV studios on Chicago's State Street to sneak on to the 10pm news for the third year running (the video can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEOzrX2-bnM) before heading up to the Wrigley Building (one of cities landmark buildings) to take photos of the tower lit up Red, White & Green for St. David’s Day.

I have attached some pictures of the Wrigley building and the brave few who left the comfort of the pub to brave the subzero temperatures outside!!

Cheers

Dave Parry
